Anyone used one of these? Looks quite a bit cheaper than a Kestrel 2000. Only downside is that you need an app to view the readout. But it should hold calibration for several years. Has the required accuracy of 0.5 K.

And a Greisinger GTH 1150 C that Paul Carling has recommended before

The good thing about the probes is that you can get a new one if it gets damaged. For an all-in-one unit you need to by a whole new unit.

@Paul Carling How often are they calibrated in the U.K.? Is it still every year for thermometers? I wonder how often they drift out of calibration and need replacement.

Here's another thermometer that was recommended by Teltherm Instruments in NZ as a reliable, affordable unit.
Center 300
Type K thermocouple.
Only need single-channel.

Looks like you could get it in a few locations online in Australia
